West and our team of specialists offer a client focused service approach which includes a full suite of Environmental Services to support all project planning, execution, and closure activities. This includes Phase I & II ESAs (Upstream Oil & Gas, Commercial, Industrial, Residential), Risk Management Plans, Contamination Assessment and Remediation, Remedial Action Plans, Biophysical Impact Assessments (BIA), Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Wetland Classification & Water Act Submissions, Wildlife Sweeps & Surveys (Including species of concern), Vegetation Surveys, Weed Inventories, Soil Surveys and Assessments, and Land Restoration (including all components of Civil Earthworks). West assessments are complimented by the use of UAV (Drones) to acquire accurate data including orthomosaic photogrammetry, aerial imagery, or DTM/DEM/DSM point clouds which facilitates real time assessments and analysis without the expense of costly and multiple site visits.

Pre/Post Assessments

 This includes pre-and post-Construction Assessments, including identifying and managing environmental and sustainability issues that can significantly impact capital expenditure and operational costs, create risks, and reduce asset value. Facets of the assessments include soil, water/wetland, vegetation, and topographical evaluation. Biology/Terrestrial/Aquatic/Assessment and Monitoring

West uses a variety of tools and techniques designed to assess, characterize, and monitor the terrestrial and aquatic environment. We develop environmental protection plans for seismic planning, oil field/oilsands drilling programs and pipeline planning and construction. Techniques used include watercourse and water quality assessment using a variety of techniques; terrestrial ecosystem and large/small mammal inventory and habitat requirements. Environmental impact assessment and mitigation planning are important to industry when developing their facilities. Our focus is on habitat delineation and impact assessments, wetland classification and monitoring. The main objective of environmental monitoring is to manage and minimize the impact of an organization’s activities have on an environment, either to ensure compliance with laws and regulations or to mitigate risks of harmful effects on the natural environment.
