West Earth Sciences is an Indigenous Owned Environmental, Geomatics, Innovation, Engineering and Advanced Technology company. West is committed to championing the communities in which we work through engagement with Indigenous communities, and we respect the unique and diverse cultural values of all First Nations people. Recognizing the importance of cultivating meaningful relationships based on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. Since 1973, West has been actively engaging with Indigenous communities across western Canada, building relationships, establishing long-term beneficial partnerships and helping our clients meet their commitments to communities. West has many valuable partnership and relationships in the First Nation realm in particular with groups such as Seabird Island, Tobacco Plains, Horse Lake, Ermineskin Cree, Flying Dust and the Gwitch’n Tribal Council.


Our team of skilled professionals, environmental scientists, professional engineers, drafters, environmental auditors, project managers, field personnel and GIS specialists seek to assists clients achieve their goals by transforming concepts into reality while meeting regulatory, community and environmental requirements. This includes front-end project planning, design and regulatory approvals, pre and post-development site assessments, environmental liability assessment and reduction, water supply evaluation and permitting, construction and operations monitoring, and soil and groundwater remediation and reclamation.

Favourable project metrics are achieved using West’s ERP, Dynamics 365, and corporate adherence to the waterfall methodology of project management. Realtime reporting eliminates the variability of schedule and cost deviations and enhances the linear workflow when compared against the baseline WBS. Further use of ArcGIS Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office 365 and virtual networks facilitate project continuity and workflow transition no matter the limitations imposed by physical restrictions like extreme weather, global pandemics or natural disasters.


West has a 49-year history of technology innovation that include advancements in machine control, water treatment technologies, robotic total stations, airborne sensing technologies and UAV’s.
