BTG Energy Groundwater and Soil Assessment
- client: BTG Energy Corp.
- Value: $200,000+
- Project Duration: September 2022 - Present
For BTG Energy Corp., West has undertaken an extensive project involving groundwater monitoring and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) at three distinct sites, starting in September 2022 and ongoing. The scope includes thorough groundwater and soil delineation to assess contamination levels and environmental impact. Key activities encompass project planning, well and borehole siting, and acting as a client representative for technical document submission and regulatory communication.
The field work involved intrusive investigations to collect vertical and lateral soil samples through auger drilling, and installing and developing monitor wells. Monitoring included surveying well locations for accuracy and assessing their integrity. Collected samples were analyzed for a range of parameters, including soil salinity, grain size, routine and specialized water analyses, total and dissolved metals, and hydrocarbon suites.
Ongoing work will continue with additional groundwater monitoring, delineation activities, and data collection to evaluate groundwater flow velocity. The total project cost exceeds $200,000, reflecting the comprehensive nature and depth of the environmental assessments conducted.
